Our Lady of Mount Carmel School was established in 1929 by the Sisters of the Divine Compassion. As a parish based school, we continue the Catholic faith based tradition in educating our students to become confident and competent leaders.
Our outstanding faculty of Sisters and Laity endeavor to provide quality education that merges principles and values with the latest technology. We are among the few Catholic Schools in the area that have SMARTBOARDS in every classroom and the students in the upper grades are now working with individual IPADS.
Our scores in the Standardized Testing given by the Archdiocese of New York and the New York State Department Department of Education are among the highest in Westchester County. Our graduates have been recipients of high school scholarships.
We provide many extracurricular activities starting in the third grade, such as basketball, volleyball, softball, baseball, cooking and band. The students participate in outreach to the homeless by collecting clothing and food.
Our students participate monthly in special Masses for Birthday and Holy Days. They are active in planning, and taking part in, the Mass.
Our school is located in a central area of Westchester. Many of our parents work at Westchester Medical Center, Phelps Hospital and in businesses in Westchester, Rockland, lower Connecticut, New York City and the Bronx. Children may come at 7 AM for early drop off and our Stay and Play program runs five days a week until 5:30 pm.
Our school is equipped with surveillance that includes cameras and magnetic locks on all buildings. The safety of our children is a top priority.
I would be delighted to talk with you more about our unique School. It will be our privilege to be a significant part of your child’s education.
God bless you,
– Sr. M. Stephen, RDC
