Getting To Know Us
OLMC Parents’ Guild Board Members 2022-2023
Welcome to OLMC School. I would like to take a moment to introduce the OLMC Parents’ Guild board members. I know after you’ve read a little about us you will see we all the same goal. To ensure that all the children and their families have an exciting & memorable year.
PRESIDENT
Hello! My name is Eva Aklamati-Darko. I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity to serve in the OLMC guild. I am a proud mother of two kids. Both of them attend OLMC. My son is in the 7th grade and my daughter is in 5th grade. We enjoy being a part of the Parish and the diverse school community.
My husband and I were born and raised in Ghana, West Africa. We both immigrated to the US and settled in California. In 2015, we moved from California to New York. We love every minute here in New York.
Professionally, I work as a project manager for the Department of Veterans Affairs, so I bring to this role years of experience with budgets, planning, organizing, community engagement, graphic designing etc.
I’m sure it’s our shared goal to build an engaged school community, so I welcome your communication and feedback and I look forward to meeting you all. Thank you!
VICE PRESIDENT:
Hello parents! I look forward to getting to know each of you through Parent’s Guild. In addition to being a parent, I am a graduate of OLMC Class of ’95. I couldn’t be more happy with, or grateful for, the experience that I had while studying at the school.
Professionally, I work as a programs Vice President at Gartner. I hold an MBA and International Studies from Wharton, and my undergraduate degree in Economics from Columbia University. I have also lived abroad as a volunteer, and speak Spanish comfortably.
I have fond memories of OLMC parents as a student; they were instrumental in moving forward student activities, after school programs, and were a key part of my community. I look forward to building an even more dynamic community at OLMC today.
CORRESPONDING SECRETARY:
My name is Krystal Sarno, an alumna of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel class of 1995. My daughter is a 5th grader and delighted to say she attends Our Lady of Mt. Carmel school.
My family and I lived in Elmsford for over 25+ years but recently moved to Croton-on-Hudson, NY. We are active members of the community, and sponsor and volunteer many extracurricular events to improve the welfare of the children.
Professionally, I worked for JP Morgan Chase for 16 years. In 2017, I moved on and currently own a moving business. I enjoy every moment of being self employed, as it gives me the flexibility to focus on my family.
I’m excited about the opportunity to be involved in the school decisions that impact our kids’ education and overall school experience. I look forward with helping to execute these elements.
CORRESPONDING SECRETARY:
Hello! My name is Karen Sannemann, I am the mother of a 3rd grade girl and also a 17-year-old adolescent son studying at another school. I am very happy to be able to participate in the activities of OLMC school, and to be part of the parish community, attending Sunday masses.
I’m from Paraguay, a country in the center of South America, and I have been living here for 20 years. I’ve dedicated myself to caring for children, for whom I feel great love, and have great satisfaction helping them grow up healthy and with positive values, so that they can later be good people in our society.
With the trust I place in God, I hope that our community can achieve all the proposed objectives for the good of our children, working in community and harmony.
TREASURER:
Dear OLMC Families,
The school’s Parents’ Guild is back in full swing. We would like to thank you for your continued support and dedication to the school and the Guild. At OLMC, all parents are members of the Guild.
The goals of the Guild are to promote collaboration and partnership between the school and the school families, to provide a safe space for school families to create lasting social connections, and to assist the school with fundraising and fun activities that will enhance both the quality of education and student life.
As the school year comes to an end, we would like to honor our families with a potluck dinner we call, It’s a Small World. This is a wonderful opportunity to get to know new families, get reacquainted with familiar faces, and learn about the Guild. More information about the potluck will be sent home with your children, emailed to families, and posted on the Guild’s webpage.
Please take a moment to visit our webpage at https://www.olmcelmsford.com/resources/parents-guild/. Here, you will learn about the Guild Officers and get up to date information about Guild events.
2023-2024 Guild Officers are:
